Brothers I am sad to announced the passing of Brother Eugene Vogt at age 94. The family has requested the Knights to attend the wake on this Friday November 7th at 5 pm. Eugene was an active member of the Knights and request you assistance in attending his services. We will meet at St Edwards Church in the Chapel at 5pm for a brief service. The Knights 2018 Soccer Challenge awards were made just before the December meeting. Parents and several brother members were in attendance. Grand Knight John Ward made awards to the five winners attending, with the remaining three to be made at a later date. The awards consisted of an engraved plaque and a regulation Knights of Columbus soccer ball.
The Knights hosted their annual pancake breakfast at St. Edward’s social hall on Sunday October 28, 2018. Proceeds go to benefit Hannah’s Hope Fund and Choices for Growth, LLC (Domestic Violence Prevention & Community Support). A short 30 sec. video of the event is posted on the Knights’ facebook page. Just ‘Google’ to ‘KofC 11064 facebook’.
On Saturday, September 22, the Saint Edwards Knights of Columbus Council held a penalty kick soccer competition to determine our region’s representatives. Forty-three boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 14 kicked over 600 penalty kicks! In the end, we were able to select 6 boys and 4 girls to represent Saint Edwards at the state level at West Point in early November. Well done to all the participants and congratulations to those who will be advancing! — Grand Knight John Ward

On Sunday July 15th, 2018, five brothers from our council visited and cooked dinner for the residents of Ronald McDonald House in Albany. Residents and staff were very appreciative and enjoyed a home cooked ham dinner.![]()

Thank you for all your help and support for the Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser – according to the final count, this event netted $1848.65. We had a lot of fun in the effort.
The move of this event to Saturday night was a key in the success for this year. It is estimated that we spent about 160 man-hours of efforts. In addition to the income, we provided a large amount of food to three different organizations and a significant amount of bread to the religious education students who were studying the Eucharist. We were fortunate enough to share our table with St Edward’s Spanish community after the 6:30 Mass let out. We had a great time as they brought in some enchiladas and a birthday cake for a youngster.
A special thanks, goes out to Debby Galluppi who was very instrumental in getting a large amount of donations from local businesses – that effort directly increased the profit for this event. Another special thanks goes to the Youth ministry support lead by John Leirey. There efforts were extremely beneficial.
